Kale Ghoochi pistachios, a renowned Iranian jumbo variety, are prized for their large size, round shape, and exceptional flavor. Originally cultivated in Rafsanjan, this high-yield pistachio is now also grown in Khorasan, especially Sabzevar, where optimal soil and climate conditions enhance its quality.
These pistachios feature a light green kernel, red-grey hull, and a high split ratio, making them a favorite in global markets. Known for their early blooming (April) and ripening (September), they require about 600 chilling hours but are sensitive to spring frosts, water shortages, and nutrient deficiencies. The trees produce thick branches, medium-sized clusters, and vigorous vegetative growth. Despite susceptibility to pests and diseases, their commercial value is unmatched due to their nut size, yield, and superior taste.
